Briefly introduce what should be paid attention to when selecting chains:

After the chain wheel is seriously worn, it shall be replaced with a new chain wheel and a new chain to ensure good engagement. It is not allowed to replace new chains or sprockets separately. Otherwise, poor engagement may occur to accelerate the wear of new chains or sprockets. When the sprocket tooth surface is worn to a certain level, it shall be turned over in time for use (referring to the sprocket with adjustable surface). To extend the use time.

The old chain shall not be mixed with the new chain, otherwise the impact will occur in the transmission and the chain will be broken. The chain shall be filled with smooth oil in time during operation. The lubricating oil shall enter the fit clearance between the roller and the inner sleeve to improve the working conditions and reduce wear. When the machine is stored for a long time, the chain should be removed and cleaned with kerosene or diesel oil, then coated with engine oil or butter and stored in a dry environment.

Compared with the belt drive, the chain drive has no elastic sliding and slipping, can adhere to the uniform transmission ratio, requires less tension, and has less pressure on the shaft, which can reduce the friction loss of the bearing, and can work in high temperature, greasy dirt and other harsh environmental conditions; Compared with gear drive, chain drive requires lower manufacturing and device accuracy, and its transmission structure is simple when the center distance is large. Because of the above advantages, chain drive is widely used in various mechanical equipment.

How to maintain the chain

The chain has been used for a long time, but it also needs maintenance. Do you know how to maintain it? Let me introduce to you:

1. The sprocket shall be installed on the shaft without deflection and swing. The end faces of two sprockets in the same drive assembly shall be in the same plane. When the center distance of the sprockets is less than 0.5m, the allowable deviation is 1mm; When the center distance of the sprocket is more than 0.5m, the allowable deviation is 2mm. However, it is not allowed to have the phenomenon of friction chain gear side face. If the two wheels are shifted too much, it is easy to cause chain shedding and accelerated wear. Check and adjust the offset when replacing the sprocket.

2. The tightness of the chain should be appropriate. Too tight will increase power consumption, and the bearing is easy to wear; Too loose chain is easy to jump and fall off. The tightness of the chain is: lift or press it from the middle of the chain, and the center distance between the two sprockets is about 2% – 3%.

3. The new chain is too long or stretched after use, which is difficult to adjust. The chain link can be removed according to the situation, but it must be an even number. The chain link shall pass through the back of the chain, and the locking plate shall be inserted outside. The opening of the locking plate shall face the opposite direction of rotation.
